"This is probably the most homey, comfortable, delightful bookstore I have been to for a while! The building is really big, five floors full of books. Despite having mostly Dutch books (because, duh), the English section is huge and well-stocked (they have Happy Place by Emily Henry on the release date) and they also have books in other languages like French or Spanish. But what I love most about this bookstore is how comfortable I feel in it: there are many sitting places, with ridiculously comfortable armchairs. Not to mention the coffee shop with its excellent drinks. The staff are very helpful and lovely!! I would come back here if I happen to be in Amsterdam again."

"I happened to pass by this shop and accidentally walked in absolutely not realising it was a bookshop.This is what second hand bookshops should look like. Just tons of books stacked so high you start feeling dizzy. I reckon the building is as old as some of its books.The only thing this place is missing is a cat. It could do with a cat. It is still a great place without one, but a cat would be like a rug that ties the room together."

"This is a nice store on the Kinkerstraat in Amsterdam Oud-West. It is a large, open, bright store with books, many gifts, calendars, and fun items, also nice bags. My favorite thing here is their large selection of wallets. They feature a very popular Dutch brand of wallets, in many colors and styles.They wrapped gifts for free around Christmas time, which was really nice. Friendly staff with many books in English as well."

"Tiny Friday Book Market is one of the must visit places in Amsterdam.The most interesting there are... People)) Those who sell and those who buy. There's only some stalls, twelve at most, but each of them unique. All sellers are quite picturesque and they can tell you about their books or other goods for hours. I came across today and spent 40 minutes just looking through this and that, listening to some books history. Most books in Dutch, but a lot ones in English and other languages. So if you love reading and books, it's your place for sure. Prices are different, but mostly affordable. And location is perfect."

"I’m an illustrator so during my trip to Amsterdam, I was looking for children’s books to bring back home that were culturally important to Amsterdam / Netherlands. The staff was so unbelievable helpful and knowledgeable. The book they recommended wasn’t in stock but they ordered it for me and I got it a day or 2 later. I absolutely loved the books they recommended and they are part of my treasured collection now. I really can’t wait to be able to visit again, and go trough all the beautiful books they have!"

"Fantastic store with a terrific range of books.The people who work at Zwart op Wit are all big readers whom you can ask for advice anytime! Their expertises range from the classics to the newest Booktok bestsellers. Moreover, this store's section of English literature is pretty extensive, as is its array of magazines, children's literature, art books and gift cards.I haven't yet mentioned the store itself. Feast your eyes on the colorful 80s shop exterior and the cozy display of books inside. It's lovely to just walk in and have a look around."
