"I arrived from Lille Flanders with my luggage and I sat there to have a drink with a friend.ROSE: Great location in the centre of Lille, ideal for introverts looking for silence and chill. You sit in a sofa. There’s a large variety of hot beverages and juices (I recommend the speculoos-flavoured hot cocoa). You’re surrounded by books. The staff is friendly, clean and knowledgeable. Upstairs there’s a game room for people who come to have fun. You can’t see nor hear the gamers from the library/café floor.THORN: There was nothing to eat, not a single piece of cake or anything chewable. The books are all over the place, there’s no particular theme, no bookseller’s pick, nothing. Board games and books can share the same shelf; there was only one sofa where you can sit and sip your tea and that sofa is not mega clean. The other sofa that looks cleaner has no table in front of it (it’s clearly cleaner because no one can sit to eat or drink there).BUD: When I arrived from Lille Flanders, I asked Google Maps to show me all the cafés in the neighborhood. This place wasn’t on the list! The nice places that were on the list were on the side of the rue Mauroy that was blocked by the police after the collapse of two buildings. I looked around and read on the other side of the street a sign that said “librairie salon de thé”. Maybe they don’t serve coffee? My suggestion is that, if they do serve coffee, they should be registered as a café as well. My other suggestion is to play chill music (Cesaria Evora, Earl Klugh…)"
