"This is a four-level high Popular bookstore at Bras Basah complex! There is no escalator within the bookstore and starts on the second level of the complex. The next level into the bookstore is on Level 4 and/or Level 5 (not so inconvenient at level 5). Level 5 is the best floor to be for me to look at stationery, adorable items/cartoons and many more merchandises:)"

It was on our way to masjid sultan from peninsula excelsior towers.If you want to find such gems, then buy a pair of comfortable shoes and walk to every destination, with the goal of stopping frequently.Only then can you enjoy being a tourist with hints of being a local!"

"Lovely book store for children. Lots to select from for various age groups. My 8 year old was able to find several fiction books, while I picked out 6 picture books for my kindergartener. Lots of activity books as well for writing, maths, art and just plain fun. It is definitely on the pricey end but I really enjoyed browsing and appreciated the thought that went into organizing the books. E.g. picture books were organized by topic (animals, emotions, friends, etc.)."

"Such an old-sch place with nostalgic vibes at every turn! I felt like I returned to the 80s at Beauty World Centre where the book store is located at level 3.We went there on a weekday afternoon and the little store was quite crowded. Heard a few regulars came by to ask uncle to titles like “Harry porter the 6th book”. Uncle looked like he can’t speak English but I remember days of “San Bookshop” where the owners are effectively bilingual. True enough, Uncle’s English was perfect and he knew every book or title; whether he has it or not. We asked for Scythe by Neal Shusterman - “Uncle you have book 1?” “Oh, no more already, loaned out.”Felt abit sad when uncle stamped a due date on the sheet in front of the book. He said ignore the date, as long as you return in the month of April is fine. Wish there were more books I could buy to support him but this trip, I only spent $25! Looks like alot of clearance books have already been snapped up.It’s a pity that it’s closing in September 2022 for good so quickly go down and support the uncle before it closes for good!Note: we went down on a Monday and they were closed! So we made another trip down on Tuesday. Take note that they closed on Mondays!"

"I visited on March 17th, 2018.The place is a little secluded, but attention is excellent and prices fair. The proprietary is French and very helpful. My taxi driver couldn't find it, but I had a little faith and kept looking for it.They sell new and used books and are divided by genre instead of author, which is excellent because I was not shopping for anything in particular, just wanted some SciFi from classic authors (and got 4 books!)The hours are tricky though:* They are CLOSED from Monday to Wednesday.* Thursday, Friday and Saturday: 11AM to 6PM.* Sunday: 11AM to 3PM.I was lucky I went on Saturday."
